Joining our fleet in January 2019, is the latest state of the art glider, the DG1001 Club Neo. Its roomy cockpit fits even the tallest pilots and with the handling of a single seater, makes it very comfortable, easy and fun to fly. It is suitable for early training right through to advanced cross country.
Instrumentation includes a HELIOS Vario/ Final Glide / Nav.

VH-KDX Duo Discus X

Purchased new from the Schempp-Hirth factory in Europe and arrived in Australia in October 2007. It has improvements over it’s predecessor such as sprung undercarriage, trailing edge flap, Maughmer winglets and 20m wing span and is considered to be an all-round glider for competition as well as club operations.

VH-KYY Astir CS77 (club standard)

This model was the first sailplane designed and serially produced by Grob. It features composite (fibreglass/resin) construction, a large wing area, a T-tail and water ballast. A Standard Class Sailplane, the large wing area gives good low-speed handling characteristics.

Powered for many years by a V6 Ford engine, the concept and benefits of water-cooled engines for tug aircraft was proven. Such was the success that it's powerplant was upgraded to a modern alloy 6 litre GM V8. Many thanks to Dave Sharples and Rob Butler for their dedication and enthusiasm to the project.

Has served the Club well for many years. The powerplant has been upgraded to a 180hp for improved performance and the exterior recently underwent a major refurbishment. Many thanks to Darryl & Neil who led the team and to all those who provided the much-needed assistance.
